Episode 65: Is Physical Media for Movies, TV and Video Games at Death's Door?!

In this episode of The Fun Waste of Time, the fellas discuss the potential "phasing out" of physical media for movies, TV and video games.  With one of, if not THE biggest retailers of physical media sales, Best Buy, no longer offering physical copies of movies and TV shows starting in 2024, how long will it be before streaming services and digital sales of our favorite forms of entertainment completely take over?  Listen in as the fellas have a “spirited” debate about where they see physical media heading in the not-so-distant future.

In video games, now that the Microsoft Activision-Blizzard-King acquisition is closed, the discussion centers around what the fellas would like to see happen now that it all falls under the Xbox umbrella.  With Activision-Blizzard’s extensive library of games, what content do the fellas want to see get the remake, remaster, reboot or reimagined treatment?

Bonus topic: Do the fellas agree with Marvel Studios CEO, Kevin Feige, that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) should get a “soft-reboot”?

In addition, all the movies, TV shows and video games the fellas have watched and played over the last few weeks are discussed as well.  Movies and TV shows discussed are Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, Friday the 13th, The Exorcist, Gen V, Ahsoka, Star Wars Rebels, Moving, Dark Winds, Reservoir Dogs and more.  Video games discussed are Spider-Man 2, NBA 2K24, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Mortal Kombat 1, Elden Ring, Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Zombie Army 4, Aliens: Fireteam Elite and more.

There’s all this and so much more in episode 65 of The Fun Waste of Time!
